When resistance thermometers are used, a constant current must flow through the measuring resistor in order to create the necessary voltage drop for the evaluation. For this purpose, the basic unit 07 KT 94 provides a constant current sink, which is multiplexed to the 8 analog channels. Differential inputs are very useful, if analog sensors are used which are remotely non-isolated (e.g. the minus terminal is remotely earthed). Since the earthing potential is not exactly the same as
