The AB 1769-OF8C is a CompactLogix 8-channel analog output current module. This output module has 8 single-ended outputs that can provide the users with several output signals when they are needed in applications that run CompactLogix controllers. The nominal output current ranges for the 1769-OF8C are 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA with full-scale analog output current ranges of 0 to 20 mA and of 3.2 to 21 mA. The AB 1769-OF8C can support up to 8 channels of simultaneous analog current output. On the front side of the module, there is one LED “OK” indicator if the module is not experiencing problems. This status LED light can warn the users if it detects an open-loop condition. This condition can cause an interruption in PLC software so users should have predetermined procedures for this kind of event. The module also has overcurrent and overvoltage protection features. The 1769-OF8C Compact Logix series current output module requires a 24 Volts DC rated external power supply and it includes channel-to-earth ground isolation.

The AB 1769-OF8C is configured with the RSLogix 5000 software, and all the output values are generated through the PLC ladder logic that is programmed by the users. All of the outputs have a 16-bit resolution. The 1769-OF8C output module includes an integral removable terminal block with finger-safe protection for the wiring to the actuators. This terminal block can be found behind a door at the front of the output module. The most common way of wiring this module is by routing it from beneath the module to the output terminals. The 1769-OF8C also has a replacement door kit and it uses a solid copper wire with a 22 by 14 AWG size. The output impedance for the 1769-OF8C is more than 1 Ohm and it is protected from short-circuiting. The module is built to operate at a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. Its accuracy at 25 degrees Celsius is ±0.35% of the full scale. The 1769-OF8C is shipped with an approximate weight of 0.28 kilograms, and it measures 4.65 inches x 1.38 inches x 3.43 inches.
