Product Description
The AB 1756-OB32 is a ControlLogix output module. It has 32 outputs available, with up to 16 points allowed per group. Its fused IFM can be used to protect outputs and the recommended fuse for this module is the 5x20mm 800 mA supplied by the Littelfuse p/n SP001.1003 or the Schurter p/n 216.800. A removable terminal block housing, or RTB, is required for specific modules before it can be installed on a chassis and this includes the 1756-OB32 module. For this module, the only compatible RTBs are the cage clamp 1756-TBCH and the spring clamp 1756-TBS6H. Remember to install and ground the chassis and power supply prior to installing the module with the RTB. The module also has status light indicators that show the module status and the individual I/O status.
The communication formats that work with the 1756-OB32 module are scheduled output data, output data, rack optimization, listen-only rack optimization, and listen-only output data. You can also configure the states in Fault Mode per point and the states in Program Mode per point. You can choose the following options for both: Hold Last State, On, or Off. Note that 'Off' is set by default for all.
The 1756-OB32 module has a voltage category of 12/24V DC source and an operating voltage range of 10 to 31.2V DC. Its current draw at 5.1V DC is 300 mA and at 24V, it has a current draw of 2 mA. It also has a total backplane power of 1.58W, a maximum off-state leakage current per point of 0.5 mA per point, and a maximum on-state voltage drop of 200 mV DC at 0.5 A. Its maximum surge current per point is 1 A for 10 ms per point that is repeatable every 2 s at 60 Degrees Celsius and its minimum load current is 3 mA per point. The maximum current per point at 50 Degrees Celsius is 0.5A and 0.35A at 60 Degrees Celsius, while the maximum current per module is 16 A at 50 Degrees Celsius and 10 A at 60 Degrees Celsius. This module also has a continuous isolation voltage of 250V.
The output delay time of the 1756-OB32 module from off to on is a nominal 60µs and 1 ms max, while from on to off, it is 200µs nominal and 1 ms max. It has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 Degrees Celsius and and a non-operating temperature range of -40 to 85 Degrees Celsius.
