The GE Digital I/O Board DS3800HIOD1H1G is sensitive to the build up of static electricity. The static enters the board when an individual walks around with the board. However, with specific measures, you can keep static from entering the board. First, the board is shipped to you in a sealed static protective package. It is best to keep the board in the sealed package until you are about to install it. Wear a static protective wrist strap to handle the board. 1 end of the strap is wrapped around your wrist or arm. The other end of the cord ends with a clip that can be attached to a metal chair, a metal post, or any other metal object. The static seeks out the grounded object and drains from your person.
