Is this probe backward-compatible with older Bently 3300 probes?
A: Yes. The 3300 XL generation is designed to be electrically and mechanically interchangeable with legacy 3300 5 mm / 8 mm
probes and extension cables — so long as the system does not
exceed the weaker (non-XL) component’s limits.

What is the interchangeable / calibration philosophy?
A: Bently’s 3300 / XL system is designed so probes, extension cables, and Proximitor modules do not need individual
“pairing” or bench calibration — components are calibrated to a reference target
(AISI 4140 steel) and are generally interchangeable.

What is the expected linear measurement range and sensitivity?
A: For a standard 3300 XL 8 mm system, the linear range is ~2.0 mm, and the scale factor (ISF) is ~7.87
V/mm (200 mV/mil) over that range.

How far from the Proximitor (signal conditioner) can this probe be placed?
A: Standard systems support up to ~305 m (1,000 ft) of field wiring between the
Proximitor and the monitoring equipment.
