Description
The Eaton 9468‑ET is part of the MTL (an Eaton brand) 9460‑ET series of Ethernet‑connectivity modules designed for hazardous area / intrinsically safe (IS) environments.
Although some listings call it an “Ethernet Switch”, the published datasheet and manual refer to the 9468‑ET specifically as an Ethernet Isolator (i.e., an isolating
barrier between safe area and hazardous area Ethernet segments) rather than a full managed switch. It allows devices located in safe or noncertified areas to
interconnect with intrinsically safe Ethernet networking equipment in hazardous zones, supporting 10/100 Mbps
over Cat5e twisted‑pair cables and providing galvanic isolation for safety compliance.
