The 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Transducer System from Bently Nevada (of which part number 330701-00-25-10-11-05 is a specific probe version) is a non-contacting

eddy-current probe system for measuring displacement or vibration of a rotating shaft or other conductive target. The system

comprises the probe (the part in question), an extension cable, and a Proximitor® sensor.

FAQ

Q1. What does “11 mm” mean in the 3300 XL 11 mm series?
A: The “11 mm” refers to the nominal diameter of the probe tip (or sensing tip assembly) and corresponds to the larger size version

of Bently Nevada’s XL series proximity probes. The larger tip enables the longer linear measurement

range compared to the 8 mm series.

Q2. Can I use this probe with a monitoring system designed for the older 7200-series?
A: Not directly. The datasheet states that when upgrading from the 7200-series to the 3300 XL 11 mm series, every

component (probe, extension cable, Proximitor sensor) must be replaced with 11 mm components and

the monitoring system may require updated software/configuration.

Q3. What is the useful measurement (linear) range of this probe?
A: For the 11 mm series, linear range is about 0.5 mm to 4.5 mm (approx 20 mils to 180 mils) for the standard

gap and target material. Beyond that there is an “extended” deviation-from-straight-line

(DSL) range up to ~5.0 mm (200 mils).
