Q1: What does the “11 mm” mean in the 3300 XL 11 mm family?

Q2: Can I directly replace an 8 mm probe with this 11 mm one?
A2: Not necessarily. The 11 mm family (3300 XL 11 mm) has different linear range, calibration, and mounting requirements than the 8 mm
family. The datasheet states when upgrading from the older 7200 series to the 3300 XL 11 mm system, “every component must be
replaced with 3300 XL 11 mm components.” So using this 11 mm probe may require matching the extension cable
and Proximitor sensor for correct performance.

Q3: What gap should I set between probe tip and target?
A3: The datasheet recommends ~2.5 mm (100 mils) gap for the 11 mm system in typical operation.
Operating closer or further is possible but may impinge on linear range or calibration.
