Q1: What is the purpose of this probe?
A1: It’s used to monitor shaft displacement and vibration on rotating machinery (such as turbines, compressors, pumps) without physical contact. By measuring the distance to the metal target (shaft), it helps detect misalignment, unbalance, bearing wear, and other faults.

Q2: What kind of signal does this probe produce?
A2: The probe itself is passive and works with a Proximitor sensor to generate a voltage signal (in the 3300 XL 11 mm
system, ~3.94 V per mm of displacement) when powered correctly.
