The MLE‑TN32A is a digital output expansion module for the MasterLogic‑50 (ML50) PLC system from Honeywell.Specifically, it’s a 32‑point
open‑collector (transistor sink) output module — i.e., it provides 32 independent digital output channels.It’s intended for use when the
PLC needs to drive external loads under transistor output mode (e.g. DC actuators, indicators, or other DC‑driven devices).As part
of the ML50 I/O module lineup, it mounts onto the I/O rack alongside other modules (inputs, analog I/O, other
outputs, etc.) as an expansion output module.

Q: What kind of output does MLE‑TN32A provide — transistor sink or relay contacts?
A: MLE‑TN32A provides open‑collector transistor sink outputs (transistor “sink” type). It does not provide relay contact outputs.
That makes it suitable for DC loads (solenoids, DC lamps, logic‑level inputs, etc.) but not directly
suitable for AC mains or heavy AC loads.
Q: What voltages and currents can its outputs drive?
A: The outputs support DC 12 V or 24 V loads (acceptable range 10.2–26.4 V). Each output can drive up to 0.2 A,
and the common sink (COM) can handle up to 2 A. Off‑state leakage is minimal (≤ 0.1 mA), and ON‑state
voltage drop is low (≤ 0.4 V), which makes it efficient for low‑power DC loads.
Q: How fast is switching / response time? Can it handle rapid on/off signals?
A: Yes — The module's output response time (OFF→ON or ON→OFF) is ≤ 1 ms under rated resistive load.
This is typically sufficient for standard PLC digital output tasks such as driving indicators, relays
(via driver), DC valves/solenoids, or logic-level interfacing.
