PR 6423 series are non-contact eddy-current displacement sensors (also called proximity/transducer sensors), used primarily for dynamic and static measurement of rotating machinery components: shafts, bearings, etc.Their main measurement targets include: radial (and axial) shaft displacement / position, shaft eccentricity, vibration / oscillation, thrust (axial movement), differential expansion, oil-film thickness / bearing clearance, valve position / air-gap in valves or rotating equipment — essentially any critical movement or clearance between rotating and stationary parts.The sensor is designed with rugged construction, suitable for harsh industrial environments (turbines, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, etc.).In short: PR6423/015-040 is a precision, industrial-grade, non-contact sensor for monitoring displacement, vibration, and positional relationships in rotating machinery — enabling reliable predictive maintenance, safety monitoring, and performance control. |

Installation and Safety Notes |

Based on the manufacturer’s general instructions for the PR 6423 family. Non-contact requirement: The sensor must be installed such that the sensor’s tip (head) faces the target metal surface (shaft, rotor) at a defined air-gap — there must be no physical contact. Proper initial calibration (air-gap adjustment) against the signal converter is essential to ensure accurate measurement.
