Description

What kind of systems / machinery is this suitable for?

Typical applications include rotating machinery such as turbines, compressors, pumps, motors, generators, fans, centrifuges — especially in heavy industries, power plants, petrochemical plants, etc. The 7200‑series probes are part of widely used systems for industrial shaft monitoring and condition monitoring.

What do I need to use the probe properly?

  • Use it as part of a complete proximitor / monitoring system (probe + cable + signal conditioner / monitor / Proximitor module). The probe alone only changes gap into raw eddy‑current signal; you need the matching electronics for linearization, output, and monitoring. This is especially important for systems adhering to standard protocols (e.g. for protection or alarm applications). 

  • Install with correct mounting (3/8‑24 UNF standard mount), correct probe-to-shaft gap (within linear range), good cable routing (shielded, strain‑relieved), and proper sealing/connector usage if in harsh environment.

  • Ensure environmental conditions (temperature, fluids, contamination) are within the probe’s tolerances as per datasheet of your specific unit / configuration.


What are limitations / what to check carefully?

  • Because the “56” in the part number is unusual in public 21504 listings, it’s possible this is a non‑standard / custom variant — meaning mechanical dimensions or internal construction may differ from typical 21504‑00‑##‑10‑02 probes. Use caution, verify with vendor.

  • As with any eddy‑current proximity probe — accuracy and reliability depend heavily on proper gap, correct target material (conductive metallic shaft), correct wiring, and using a compatible conditioning system.
