The SNB10D is a “Safety Node Unit” (rack-mountable) — designed for use in a safety instrumented system (SIS), typically with Yokogawa’s ProSafe‑RS.

SNB10D-415/CU2N specifically is a variant with dual-redundant power supply and ESB-bus connection via the “CU2N” connector unit.Acts

as interface between field I/O modules (analog inputs, contact/digital I/O) and the safety controller (via ESB bus). It transmits field signals

 (analog & contact) to the safety controller (SCU).Supports a safety-rated architecture: SNB10D units are part

of the ProSafe-RS SIS, with compliance to safety standards (see below).

 units may be supported.


Q: Is SNB10D-415/CU2N suitable for hazardous / explosion-risk environments?
A: The standard suffix “5” indicates a basic type with no explosion protection (“no explosion-proof”). To use

in hazardous environments, an explosion-proof variant (with suffix “E” and appropriate
