Description
The PCI-8361 is a remote-controller card from National Instruments (NI), belonging to the “MXI-Express x1” series.It provides a cabled-PCI (or PCI-to-PCI bridge)
link between a standard PC (with a PCI slot) and a remote PXI bus (or PXI-based) chassis.In effect: modules in the remote PXI chassis
appear to the host PC like ordinary PCI devices — meaning you can “extend” the PC’s PCI bus over a cable
to control distant I/O / instrumentation hardware without them
being physically inside the PC.
