The Bently Nevada 330101‑00‑20‑20‑02‑CN is a 3300 XL series 8 mm eddy‑current proximity probe designed for non‑contact shaft vibration and displacement measurement

 in industrial rotating machinery protection and condition monitoring systems. It’s part of the Bently Nevada 3300 XL Proximity Transducer System,

a widely used industry solution for reliable, long‑term monitoring of equipment like turbines, compressors, pumps, and motors.

1. What does this proximity probe do?

It measures shaft vibration and radial displacement without contact using eddy‑current sensing, giving a raw signal that reflects how far

 the probe tip is from a nearby conductive surface (like a rotating shaft).


2. How does eddy‑current proximity sensing work?

A high‑frequency electromagnetic field around the probe tip interacts with the metal surface of the rotating shaft. Changes

 in this field, caused by movement of the shaft relative to the probe, are converted into an electrical signal

proportional to the gap distance. That signal is then conditioned by a

Proximitor® sensor for use in monitoring systems.



3. What is the linear range and resolution?

Typical 3300 XL 8 mm probes provide a linear measurement range up to ~2.0 mm (80 mils),

with high linearity and repeatability, though exact specs depend on

 installation and proximity system setup.
