It is designed to measure shaft position and vibration in rotating machinery such as turbines, compressors, pumps, and generators.

Q1. What does this proximity probe measure?
A: It measures the gap between the probe tip and a conductive target (usually a rotating shaft). This gap information is used to infer shaft

position and vibration when processed through a Proximitor sensor.

Q2. Why is it part of the 3300 XL series?
A: The 3300 XL series is an industry-standard platform for eddy-current proximity transducers used in condition

monitoring and protection of critical rotating machinery.

Q3. Does the probe output a usable signal by itself?
A: No — the raw signal from the probe must be connected to a 3300 XL Proximitor sensor

(signal conditioner) to produce a calibrated voltage proportional to displacement.
