Because this 7200 series probe uses older 200 mV/mil calibration curves, you must pair it with a matching legacy 7200 Proximitor rather than a newer 3300 XL model to avoid false vibration trips on your control panel.

Can I use this 7200 series probe with a newer 3300 XL Proximitor sensor or extension cable?
No, you cannot mix them. The legacy 7200 series utilizes different electrical impedance, calibration curves, and connector sizes than the modern 3300 XL series. To prevent incorrect vibration readings or hardware damage, you must connect this probe exclusively to a matching 7200 series extension cable and 7200 Proximitor sensor.
What happens if my machine shaft material is not AISI 4140 steel?
The probe will still measure vibration, but its scale factor will shift away from the standard 200 mV/mil output. If your rotating shaft is made of stainless steel, chrome-plated alloys, or other non-4140 metals, your engineering team must perform a custom target calibration or adjust the monitoring system's scale factor to ensure accurate display data.
