Use of the digital output signal at the terminal 46 (A 62,00) for the high-speed counter The output A 62,00 can be assigned to the internal highspeed counter by configuration. If the counter is used in the operating modes 1 or 2 (up-counter), the output A 62,00 is only available for the counter. If the output is to use as a normal digital output, it has to be made sure, that the high-speed counter is not configured to the operating modes 1 or 2 (see also the chapter "High-speed counter"). it has to be made sure, that the high-speed counter is configured to the operating mode "No counter". This operating mode is the default setting (see also the chapter "High-speed counter").. Features of the digital outputs: The 16 digital outputs are arranged in two groups of 8 outputs each.The two groups are electrically isolated from each other. The outputs can be loaded with a rated current of 500 mA.Each group as a whole is electrically isolated from the rest of the device. The outputs employ semiconductors and are shortcircuit and overload-proof. The outputs are automatically switched off in case of overload or short-circuit.An overall error message indicates whether a shortcircuit or an overload has occurred on a output group.The red LED Ovl. goes out when the overloaded output is switched on again automatically. The acknowledgement of the error message, i.e. the resetting of the error flags, is carried out according to chapter B4.8 (Appendix), Acknowledgement of error messages in the basic unit. The outputs are safe against reverse polarity and forced supply of 24 V DC.
