1746-NI8

The AB 1746-NI8 is an analog single-slot I/O module for the SLC 500 system. It is a high-resolution analog input module with high-density components and it can be configured by the user with software. It is suitable for time-sensitive applications that require fast analog signal conversion and high accuracy.
The 1746-NI8 module has 8-Channel inputs with an isolated backplane. Its backplane current consumption is 200mA and 100mA at 5V DC and 24V DC respectively. It has a maximum backplane power consumption of 1W at 5V DC and 2.4W at 24V DC. The 1746-NI8 can be installed in any I/O slot except Slot 0 of SLC 500 I/O chassis. It can be converted to digital operation with successive approximation and using the switched capacitor. It uses programmable filter frequencies with a low-pass digital filter for input filtering. The 1746-NI8 performs continuous autocalibration and has an isolation voltage of 750V DC and 530V AC tested for 60s. It has a common-mode voltage ranging from -10V – 10V with a maximum of 15V between any two terminals.
The 1746-NI8 module has a removable terminal block. For wiring, the Belden 8761 or a similar cable must be used with one or two 14 AWG (2 〖mm〗^2) wires per terminal. The cable has a maximum loop impedance of 40Ω at the voltage source and 250Ω at the current source. For troubleshooting and diagnostics, it has 9 green LED status indicators. The 8 channels have one indicator each to display the input status and one each for displaying the module status. The 1746-NI8 has a Division 2 hazardous environment standard with an operating temperature of 0 – 60 °C.
