The 2711P-RP8D logic module by AB is a module in the Panelview Plus 6 series. It supports the Panelview terminals without extended features. It is a 24 Volt DC input module with 512 MB of storage memory for data and application storage. It also has a volatile memory of 512 MB for processing applications. The module can be programmed by a computer using the RS-232 serial communication port. Other devices can also be linked to the 2711P-RP8D logic module via the same port. The module also uses the Ethernet protocol for enhanced network capability, and like other PanelView Plus 6 terminals, the 2711P-RP8D uses a standard Ethernet cable for applications, and data transfers between a computer and the Panelview Plus 6 (700 to 1500) terminal.

The 2711P-RP8D uses the Windows CE 6.0 operating system without extended features and file viewers, and it comes with a Factory Talk View machine edition station that requires no product keys. This unit is compatible with Panelview Plus 700-1500 Display terminals including the 2711P-RDT7C and 2711P-RDT10C. It can also be used with communication modules such as the 2711P-RN6 for additional communication ports. All fault codes for the 2711P-RP8D can be found in the manual. The logic module is often sold with display modules as an assembled terminal. The assembled terminal part number includes the display module and the logic module; the most common combined terminal is the 10-inch display terminal (2711P-RDT10C) with this logic module (2711P-RP8D) which creates the 2711P-T10C4D8.
