The AB 1769-L33ERMS Compact GuardLogix 5370 controller is the base of PLC controlled flexible industrial automation systems that are designed to be rugged, reliable, and commissioned quickly. To program this device and configure the project, the users must have the Studio 5000 software developed by AB/Rockwell Automation. To handle communication devices and their diagnostics, the RSLinx Classic software is needed. And finally, for the DeviceNet configuration (if needed), the users must have the RSNetWorx for DeviceNet software installed on their PCs. The 1769-L33ERMS controller has 2 MB of onboard standard user memory plus 1 MB of safety memory. This controller can support 8 motion axes and it can be expended with up to sixteen 1769 series I/O modules.

The 1769-L33ERMS controller has 8 status indicators on the top, which are the run indicator which is green when the controller is in the run mode, force indicator which is yellow when I/Os are forced, I/O indicator which is green when the controller communicates with all the configured I/Os, OK indicator which is green when the controller is operating without problems, NS indicator which is a network status LED that is green when network communication is established as configured, LINK1 indicator which is the Ethernet port 1 status indicator, LINK2 indicator which is the Ethernet port 2 status indicator, and the SD indicator which is the SD card activity indicator that flashes green when the controller is reading from or writing to the SD card.
