The ParamByte attributes provide single byte (USINT) access to the first 32

elements of the Parameters attribute (attribute 3) for access via tools not

supporting complex data type representation. Modification of the Parameters

attribute will affect all the corresponding ParamByte attributes and visa versa.

The DNS--200S limits the slotobject’s ParameterSize attribute to a maximum

value of 16

SIEMENS AUTOMATION STORIES

Into the future – step by step: with logo 8 and its web-server based

machine control, the German company Mohn is taking an important step

toward a digital future.

 

Carsten Homuth often uses the expression “step by step”. As technical

project manager, he has accompanied Mohn, based in Meinerzhagen,

Germany, on its way to becoming one of the market leaders for hygiene

sluices, washing systems, and stainless steel plant equipment for the food

processing industry. On a step-by-step basis, he also refitted the product

range to run on control systems with the LOGO! logic module. These two

things go hand in hand with each other.

This is interesting for innovation driver Mohn, particularly with regard to the

use of energy and resources: “We are the only company on the market that

can do without detection sensors in optical form for shoe sole cleaning,”

explains Homuth. With printed circuit boards controlling the process, the

sensor only detects when someone enters the sluice. The brushes then

run for a preset time interval, even if the employee steps out after only

half the time has elapsed.
